Speak with Natives aims to make finding native speakers for language exchange quick and easy.
Currently this site caters for the following languages; Chinese Mandarin, Spanish, English, Hindi, Arabic, Portuguese, Bengali, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Punjabi, French, German, Italian, Thai and Hebrew. We do hope to open the site up to other languages but during the testing period these will be the only languages we offer.
This site works by collecting information from you about your interests and matching you with a suitable native speaker of the language you’re looking to practice. The more you share, the better the match will be!
Profile pictures are currently handled by Gravatar. Head on over there to attach one to your email address.
When a match is found your email address is revealed to the match. In the future we plan to introduce a real time messaging system but for now this is how contact is made.
From time to time we might want to get in touch with you. We will do this on the email address you have provided. If you’d like you can opt-out of this in your settings.
At Speak with Natives we take our users safety and security very seriously and such have taken numerous steps to make sure the information you provide us with is stored securely.
If you decide to meet one of your matches we suggest meeting in a bright, open, public place and preferably somewhere where you can clearly hear each other as you are of course meeting to exchange language! Good examples for a first meet: a coffee shop or café.
